Why does it take Valentine's Day to make men care about having a relationship?

Men wait until today to do nice things! My husband got me a beautiful ring, gold with diamonds, pink heart love is wrote on the band, it's very nice. But If it wern't for today, I wouldn't have gotton it! Just like my b-day-flowers. Why can't they show you they care for no reason? I'm talking Married men, when we were dating it was diferent. What happens when you get married? Men forget to show they care.
Why does it take Valentine's Day to make men care about having a relationship?
"SHERI":

No problem with this one.....!

Valentine's Day contains all of the hooks,snares,bells and whistles that men feel confident with as a means of "getting a foot in the door".Also,it gives them one day out of the year in which material extortion (candy,flowers,etc.)are perfectly alright are needn"t be thought of as gratuitous......I"m a man, I ought to know!......
Reply:Because married me think their wife is a sure win, with them so they no longer have to win you over.
Reply:It's like they don't have to put so much effort into bagging the cow-say I do and the fun is over.

I totally agree with, my husband never thinks of me other than a day he is forced to.
Reply:yes.. we do... this is the way we are.. or a big part of us are... but man need women... women need man... we need to accept it...

ps: why u need a preset on valentines day ? u know that u`ll get one. has no fun... there is no surprize...
Reply:There are a myriad of reasons as to why men choose Valentine's Day to show their affection. It's partly because it's expected, it's partly because they're "allowed", or it could be because he's unfaithful. In my experience it's been shown that when men (especially married men), become unhappy with the marital situation, they only put forth the minimal amount of effort to keep the relationship on its feet. The marriage becomes an integral part of their lives, not on an emotional level, but on a day-to-day operational level. Because of this, they look for fulfillment, sexual or emotional, outside of the constraints of wedlock. Right now there may be another woman out there wondering "Why is [insert name of your husband] putting up such a big deal about Valentine's Day?" It's because the passion has been placed into his extramarital affairs instead of his home-life. Simultaneously he sees the need to fulfill his marital duties, and thusly puts forth the effort only when needed - Valentine's Day.
