What should I name my new gardening show?

I'm starting a new show on my website this Saturday. It basically shows what to do that week for your garden. It might go into different types of Vegetable or flowers or whatever. It's produced in the Ozarks. The only problem is that I'm blanking on a name.
What should I name my new gardening show?
Be original. {that's one good name}

Blooming Season

Maybe look up a flower or vegetable or name it after something having to do with gardening?

Gardens this week -"today in Gardens this week we will be doing,,,"

Beautiful gardens

Vegetables/Flowers today

Zochines today { this name would definitely bring in people they'd want ot know about it and in the first show you could explain what it is} Im not sure how to spell it though sorry! i think its like a vegtable. Maybe you can name it after an unusaul flower or veg. with a werid name and put this week today etc.

  • Where can I find the most recent British Airways commercial?

The newest one with the black traveller (who looks like Sen. Barrack Obama) siting in the reclining chair, the bottle of champagne and window revealing the city to his left, and the tissues to his right is one of the most soothing commercials I've seen in a VERY long time.

Also the variation of the Flower Duet would be appreciated too. I play the piano and that flick in the beginning has the same effect as the new turn at the end of CBS' Sunday Morning show's trumpet theme song.

How should I deal with dishonest online customers ?

t's only been months since I put up my cut flower delivery business. I made some modest profits on it. But lately, a number of customers claimed they didn't receive their ordered goods .But my records show the proper receipts they signed for the delivery. It's dishonesty, plain and simple. They contested the delivery from their credit card company and subsequently cancel all payments towards my account.

How should I deal with this form of dishonest act?
How should I deal with dishonest online customers ?
Are you responding to the disputes and are they through the credit card processor, directly? if you're dealing with a third party, that makes things tough.

if you're dealing with the credit card processor directly, find out what they require to secure a transaction from being reversed and make sure you have it for every sale. I'm also not above lying when dealing with liars. I handled disputes for a small business, and what the bank requested as proof, the bank GOT- whether or not we actually had it.

Most people who are lying to start out with won't fight the dispute further if they lose. After all, they know they are in the wrong.

What song should I choose for my audition for Damn Yankees?

I'm sorry, I've asked a similar question before, but since then I've done some research, and I've narrowed the songs down to 6. They are Show Off (The Drowsy Chaperone), Bring on the Men (Jekyll and Hyde), I Enjoy Being a Girl (Flower Drum Song), I Cain't Say No (Oklahoma), and Adelaide's Lament (Guys and Dolls) and If My Friends Could See Me Now (Sweet Charity). Which song do you think is most appropriate for the audition considering the female characters Lola, Meg, Doris? Or do you think there is a better fitting song? Thanks in advance!
What song should I choose for my audition for Damn Yankees?
You have some great choices. "If my friends could see me know" best fits the style of Damn Yankees, so I would go with that one. I probably would steer away form the Rogers and Hammerstein--too cutesy.

    Good luck
Reply:I was just about to suggest "I enjoy being a girl" for Lola.

    For Meg "Adelaide's Lament."

Those are great songs. You should learn them all in the future for your repitoire.

Good Luck and let us know if you get the part.
Reply:Oh, for heaven's sake, if it's Damn Yankees, why not sing Whatever Lola Wants?? If you absolutely won't sing that, I suggest If My Friends Could See Me Now. Good luck!
Reply:I'd say you need something big and belting. Especially for Meg ("Six Months Out of Every Year" and Doris "Shoeless Joe from Hannibel, Mo"). I like the idea of you singing "Johnny One Note" from Babes in Arms. It's not quite as common as other audition songs, but it's not an unknown either. And it's a belter.

I wouldn't go with Adelaide's Lament or I Can't Say No. They're great songs, but a bit too conversational for Lola, Meg, and Doris' styles.
Reply:I suggest I Enjoy Being A Girl. My school just did that musical. And it's a good idea not to do a song from the show your auditioning for.

I'm sure a flower would be fine. You don't have to worry about words. Just let your teacher know that you care.
Reply:How about a sympathy card signed by the whole class.
Reply:Just give her a pretty little white bouquet with a tiny card that reads: "I'm sorry for your loss".
Reply:You could give her a flower and a little note saying your sorry for her loss. It really doesn't matter what color the flower is. The thing that matters is that she knows that you care. Just a card would do nicely.

What do I do with tulip/daffodil plants now they are done? Will they keep flowering?

I planted the bulbs and they grew well. They appear to be done as they have lost their petals. All that is showing is the green leaf part.I don't know if they will flower again or if I'm supposed to do something with the green leaf part???Please help.
What do I do with tulip/daffodil plants now they are done? Will they keep flowering?
You can mow them or cut them down. They will come back up next year. I have an entire yard full of tulips thanks to our home's previous owners. When we bought the home they had them completely mowed off so we thought the yard was just plain but then when spring came I had tulips by the dozen everywhere!
Reply:My mother has had those in her front yard since i was a baby they only flower in the spring but the green will stay all summer and they will come back every year you don't need to water them at all. They will never die I think they are immortal. I'm from Oklahoma and in the country where the old houses have been tore down from just being to old. The daffodils still grow as a reminder where a home once stood.
Reply:I saw Martha Stewart braid those leaves once... personally - I would cut them back.
Reply:wait till the leaves start to turn yellow and cut them back . the bulb still gets energy from the green leaves for next spring . no the wont flower again this year . i usually sprinkle marigold seeds around them in the spring. then when they are gone i still have color there.sprinkle may be the wrong word i do cover the seeds with a wee bit of soil.
Reply:You don't have to cut your tulips back right away, unless you think they are ugly without their flowers. When you decide you are ready, cut them down to the ground. If you live in an area that gets a cold winter, you can leave them in the ground for one or two years. Tulips need a chill for at least two months to make a good bloom, so if you live in a warmer area, dig them up in the fall and keep them somewhere cool for six to eight weeks before replanting in the spring. Your refrigerator will work. Tulip bulbs multiply every year, so if you leave them in the ground forever, they will crowd each other out. Dig them up every year or two and split them up. You will have more to plant the next season than you did the year before.
Reply:Tulips and daffodils are annuals. They will bloom again next year.
Reply:You can cut back the green leaf if you like, but otherwise, leave the bulbs where they are cos they'll grow again next spring. You were lucky, my daffodils never came up!!
Reply:do nothing for now, plus do you live in a cold or hot area, the bulbs will reprobuce but might need refregrated awhile.
Reply:You have to let the foliage "ripen", just wait until it turns brown

because right now the foliage is helping the bulb store food

so that you will have flowers next year. It will not look so good for a few weeks, but if you cut it off, you will not get blooms

next year, just foliage. Try planting something else in among the foliage to help mask it. I like daylilies myself.
Reply:Dead head them, (remove the flowers)Leave the leaf alone, they might flower next year
Reply:tulips and daffodils are perennials(meaning they will bloom for a short time and then die off,but will flower again every year). What you can do now is just cut leaf part off, I'm sure it's not looking very nice right now. You can now plant annuals over them(these are flowers that die after the summer season and will not flower again) Sometimes the annuals can live until the first frost. You have to plant the annuals every year, but they can last five months. whereas the perennials come up every year, but they only last about two or three weeks. It's good to have a mixture of both perennials and annuals in your garden.

Reply:nah dig them up n eat them
Reply:No, they won't keep blooming this year. You may want to cut them back to the ground.
Reply:Daffodils will bloom again, just hack them to the ground. I do this 2-3 times a summer and they always shoot back up. When my tulips bloom I cut them down at the end of the year and wait till the following year to see them flower again. I have also heard to roll the tulip leaves up and wrap a rubber band around them to help hold nutrients in. I have done this before. Do not remove any bulbs though.

Does anyone know how to make flowers for little girls room out of frabric?

I was watching a show where they used cardboard and frabric for big flowers to put on a wall and I don't know how to do it. Does anyone know or have any ideas cause it is alot of money to buy it and I need to make a few of them.
Does anyone know how to make flowers for little girls room out of frabric?
I would use foam core board, instead of cardboard, to add some dimension. Cut out a paper pattern in the size you want. Cut out the foam board with an exato knife, using this pattern. Lay the foam core petal on your chosen fabric ( wrong side up). Draw around the petal, about 1" to the outside. Spray the front of the foam core with a spray glue ( I would recommend Spray 77, available at Home Depot and craft stores ). While the glue is still tacky, smooth the fabric on it. Cut notches in the 1" overhang, and smooth to the back. These tabs can be secured with any thick craft glue. Make 5 petals for each flower ( always an odd number ). What I would do for the center of the flower, is get those honeycomb tissue balls that you open up to form a circle. Only open them up to form a 1/2 circle, and attach it to the center of the petals. You can get these balls at any party store.Attach it all to your wall with removable tape tabs that you can get in an office supply store.
Reply:aww that sounds adorable. i guess you just cut the card board out into little flower petals and staple some pretty fabric on it bu tim not sure.

Do you like my new poem?

    Hi…I’m…a little green vine,

I want to find, a fence to climb,

I want to grow, twelve feet long,

Careful not to touch the lawn,

Spring, Seeds, the start of me,

I think I’ll go, climb that tree,

On my tips, buds will grow,

I'll put on a flower show,

    Here she comes, water can,

    Sunshine Lady’s, garden plan,

She likes me, her little green vine,

I dance in the wind in the summertime.

    Hi…I’m…a little green vine,

    Twisting, running trailing kind,

Black Eyed Susan and Sweat Pea,

They cannot keep up with me,

    Watermelon’s big and slow,

Pumpkin vine has time to go,

    And the Morning Glory’s blue,

Can’t grow as fast as you-know-who,

    So…I’m…off to climb,

A trestle or a bench this time,

She likes me, her little green vine,

I’m here and there and all entwined.

    Hi…I’m…a little green vine,

I look for spots of bright sunshine,

Up the wall or through a hole,

I can even climb a pole,

How often do I need to water my Chrysanthemum's?

My wedding is in 2 weeks and it is outside. I am decorating with mums. I also live in East Texas, so it is very hot outside. I bought my mums yesterday and they are just starting to flower. There are a lot of buds that are just starting to show their color. The lady at the nursery said that they would be perfect in two weeks and in full bloom. I do not know how often I need to water them...once a day, twice a day? And do I need to use miricle grow?
How often do I need to water my Chrysanthemum's?
If it's hot and dry and they are in pots, we would water them in the morning and late afternoon just to be on the safe side. You shouldn't need to fertilize unless you are going to keep them afterward, the we would fertilize when they have stopped blooming.

Good luck with your wedding, we hope everything is perfect for you.

Whats the lifespan of a pansy?
Check inside the leaves to see if there are more flowers comming up, make sure to deadhead them too. Yes you can plant it, and you may get more flowers in the fall off them when done with spring/early summer blooms. Here is more info:

    http://gardening.about.com/od/plantprofi...
Reply:Pansies have a long life expectancy..They are usually to chicken **** to try anything exciting or dangerous.
Reply:It is an annual. You could take it outside and it will bloom again.
Reply:Pansies grow outside in the fall, winter and spring most places, and despite their name are the hardiest blooming annual. They will readily bloom outside while it is below freezing, and don't mind a dusting of snow. They typically don't like hot weather though, and I have never had any luck and getting any to live through the summer.
Reply:Pansy are a outdoor plant. If you plant them this year they usually come back the next year only smaller. They usually shrink down to a wild violet size. But I've had them last as many as 6 years as long as winters aren't too bad.
Reply:Pansies are considered annuals or short-lived perennials. Though some will self seed. Many flower from April to November (basically any time the temperature is above freezing). They thrive in cool weather. They like rich, well drained soil, with sun or light shade. Spider mites, slugs, and aphids can be a problem. Susceptible to rot if soil is too moist. Also high nitrogen fertilizers can lead to rot.

Otherwise, they are pretty easy to grow. Some types (especially the Johnny Jump Up, which has much smaller flowers) seem to "pop up" anywhere in the garden, away from where it's original planted spot is.
Reply:Pansies love cool weather. They will bloom from Fall through Spring. As the weather warms they will become leggy and develop seeds which will start new plants in your yard next Fall.

You can put your plant on the porch or in the ground. They also enjoy shade more than sun, again because they like cooler temperatures.

You can also give it some fertilizer if you like to promote blooms. Also, you can brush the snow from the plant they don't mind. When it is really cold the plant sends the water in it's leaves to it's roots and will revive when the temperatures get back up. That's it's survival trick!

What to say when someone suffers a miscarriage..?

Recently someone decided that it would be fun to poke mockery (on Yahoo Answers) of the death of our son, Zachary that we tragically lost on Aug. 2, 2006 (second trimester loss), to see the post go here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

I thought it would be important to post what to say to someone who has endured the pain of a miscarriage..

    Things you should say

Do call her and tell her you are sorry for her loss.

Do send her a card or flowers to show you care

Do let her talk as much as she needs to or wants to.

Do give her a hug to let her know you care.

Do offer to help with housework, babysitting or other things that she may not feel up to doing.

    Do acknowledge her baby.

It is okay to say I don’t know what to say or I don’t know how to help.

Do call and check up on her. The pain does not go away in a couple days.

So with that posted what else do you think would be appropiate?
What to say when someone suffers a miscarriage..?
I saw your question and was going to answer it with pretty much what you already put up there. I think a lot of times people forget that losing a child during pregnancy is still losing a loved one. They tend to think it isn't as painful as it probably is. I, myself, have never suffered through this, but can only imagine the horrible pain one must endure.

People also need to remember that we all grieve differently. Just because someone doesn't react to death the same way we might, does not mean they do not feel it as deeply.

    Some sensitivity people please!
Reply:Hi, I had a misscarage at the very end of March of 2004, then augest of that year I found out I was pregnant again but then also lost. Now I'm pregnant again, but my best friend found out a couple of weeks ago she was pregnant but just recently lost it. What I had told her is that I was sorry for her lost and to not go down the road I did, because with me I had gotten really depressed not wanting to do anything. I didn't want her to go the same route. I think what you wrote is really awsome, I think that you have everything thing covered. I had one or 2 people say means things after we lost our 2 pregnancys, but a lot of people don't understand how hard it is to lose something like that. I really hope you are doing ok, don't try to let it get you down. I wish the best for you and your spouse or b/f!!

This is a little off subject but I give ou a hi five for being a military wife. I was when my husband and I lost both our 2 pregnanys. My Husband recently got out of the Navy Seabees.

If you ever want to talk write me @ charlenelipshin@yahoo.com.
Reply:Think you have a very good list of do's..There are more cases out ther like your than you know. Good job and sorry for your loss..
Reply:Well First of all I am very sorry for your loss. I was lucky and had 2 babys very small one at 23 weeks (now 6) and one at 30 weeks (now 2). First of all you have to know that it was not your fault. You could have taken more Vitamins, Excercised more or less, eaten better, and so on and you know what, the same outcome would have happened. Your body or God or both knew that your baby would not have survived a birth or had a quality life either because of a neurological issue or a physical issue totally out of your control and ended the prenancy at the stage that you were in. What is important now is that you gave the baby a name and an identity. That is at least what may seem small but is very important. It shows that you are a true parent and that in that simple and very hard way that you love Zachary and that he still has had some kind of existance that will remain with you. By giving him a name he has an identity of being your son and that he is loved. That is important.
Reply:i think what you have up is appropiate. I have suffered a loss recently and so has one of my closet friends.

Reply:"I'm soprry for your loss." Says it all.
Reply:have suffered 3 of them and one of my friends had a stillbirth. I'm very sorry for rude people with no heart our prayers are with you. God bless you.
Reply:I would tell her I am sorry for her loss and call once a week or ten days until the due date to see how she is doing.

That said, I am sorry for your loss. I hope you are taking excellent care of your own health and body during this very stressful, sad time.

Can someone give me info on a Pagoda plant?

I bought one at the county extension service today and was told that it would flower. What I found on Yahoo search showed a picture of the plant I purchased but it had no flowers.

I did not ask the agent questions on care, planting, etc. as I thought I could find it on the net. Now I regret not asking and hope someone out there can help me.
Can someone give me info on a Pagoda plant?
Pagoda plants are very pretty indeed. However, in our area

zone 9, they are quite invasive. They propagate from the roots, meaning they send up new shoots. In a year, one plant will become four and so on. Depends upon where you live. The blossoms are quite lovely. Do go to the web site the previous person suggested. Lots of information there.

What to do about a future mother-in-law who wants to run the show?

My fiance and I are paying for our wedding, %26amp; we're trying to make it as cheap as possible. I told her that i wanted a small wedding party (2 maids/groomsmen %26amp; an usher.) She asked if i could put her daughter in the wedding, so i placed her at the guestbook. A week later, I had a ringbearer, a flower girl, two candle lighters, two ushers, and an extra groomsman.. all of his family, all invited by her. She also changed my color from aqua-white to purple-silver, bought purple dresses for these extra girls, is going to wear purple, %26amp; his dad is wear purple although my maids are wearing aqua. We finally told her how we felt and she got very upset, but after she calmed down a day later, we went over what we wanted %26amp; she some-what complied. The next day, she's in the hospital and his dad is asking us to change a few things back to how his mom wanted it because she was making herself sick thinking about calling her relatives back %26amp; telling them they're not needed in the wedding party..

What to do about a future mother-in-law who wants to run the show?
Oh honey, I'm so sorry - what a drama queen! No, they're not all like this. The whole family sounds crazy!

You %26amp; your groom need to stand together. DO NOT GIVE IN TO GUILT. Be firm, tell Dad to get over it too. You need to be clear - it's either "YOUR WAY or the HIGHWAY" - meaning you'll have a destination wedding elsewhere %26amp; w/o them. Get a backbone now or the woman will be planning your C-section soon too.
Reply:I can't believe that someone would act like that. It is your wedding and your money, do as you like. She should have checked with you before she started planning your wedding. We needs to calm herself down. Perhaps, you or your fiance should call the relatives so that she isn't as embarrassed.
Reply:You have to put your foot down now. If you don't this will set the tone for everything down the road. If she doesn't want to call them back to tell them they aren't needed, then she shouldn't have called and invited them into your wedding in the first place. My mother-in-law and I are very good friends, but we had to set some boundaries in the beginning. It is hard, but talk it out and make it clear that you appreciate her input, but all decisions belong to you and her son alone.

It will make things much smoother down the road. Your Fiance should be right by your side through these discussions. Do the work up front so that you don't have years of this agony. It will eventually cause problems in your marriage. Good Luck!
    Reply:ELOPE!

Seriously, though... if this is just the wedding and she's this controlling, something's got to be done and said before you and your finace start your life together as husband and wife.

It may be as simple as him (her son) actually laying down the law, or you may need to confront the whole family (mom, dad, siblings...)

Maybe if you elope and let her plan a reception party for the two of you after your return (provided she ponies up the $$ for it), it'll calm things a bit.
Reply:be as kind and nice as you can, and tell her you wish you could do all she wants but this is your and her sons wedding, and you really want it done your way, if its not to much trouble let her daughter be at the guest book but forget the rest, be as kind as you can you will spend the rest of your life with this woman.
Reply:Welcome to your life. Your mother-in-law will probably pull stunts like this for the rest of her life - you must nip this in the bud right now.

If having all those people and a purple themed wedding is a big deal to you, politely tell your fiance to tell his mother that you will have the wedding the way that you want to have it. Have your fiance call those extra people and tell them that there has been a misunderstanding. Tell them that you would love for them to come to your wedding and partake in this special day, but you are not able to use them in the wedding party. Tell them that you are sorry for the confusions.

You must handle this now or she will run your life forever.
Reply:Ok here is what you have to do . You and your future hubby have GOT to get on the same page with this. He needs to talk to his mom. That way she can't say that you are the one making the decisions etc. Also something important (from a woman married 12 years) The two of you NEVER disagree in front of her. If you have a problem talk it over after you get away from her. That way she won't think that her son is on her side and YOU are trying to be difficult. If you think she has a problem changing the plans. Your hubby needs to call the people and say " I think we got our signals crossed. but the wedding colors are aqua."
Reply:Stand up now , or she will be pulling this bolonga the rest of your married life. The I am sick will get old really quick. What an actress. It is your wedding and you are paying for it. If she doesn't like it , she can wait till her daughter gets married and ruin her wedding. Tell her that in those terms. She made the problem let her solve it. Sounds like my mom if things did not go her way her heart, or her migraine. She died of parkinson diease, she did not have a bad heart at all. Don't let her run your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Move to another state to get away from this controling mother in law , she is what gives mother in laws a bad name.
    Reply:here's the trick.

You call your soon-to-be husband's relatives and tell them they're not needed.

Now you can run your own show

and your fiance's mother doesn't have to fake being sick
Reply:shes useing guilt to get her own way you better put a stop to it now or she'll be running your marriage not just your wedding
Reply:Stay firm on your feelings! She is a drama queen and you cannot play into her antics! Trust me! Ive been there! It is your wedding and you are paying. She made the mess and she can fix it. Stay firm or your marriage will be ruined by her. She obviously has bullied everyone in her life and i can tell you it will not change but you can break her in early that you are not one to be pushed around. Sadly it will be a strained relationship but in time it can get better if you are respectful but firm, and if she recipricates, your golden, if she fights it, its going to be tough. But it will not be as bad as letting her rule yours and your husbands life. Good luck!
Reply:You know this is only a preview of what's to come. Do you really want to deal with her in your life? I would just put my foot down now before you actually marry your friend.
Reply:Don't do it unless you really want to. She's being over-dramatic in order to get her way, and you shouldn't be forced to turn over control of your day just to keep her quiet.

If you want to help, ask her for a list of people who need to be called and do it yourself. Ignore what she's planning on wearing, and change the wedding party to the way you want it. If any feelings are hurt, it's not your fault. She shouldn't have made the changes knowing you weren't happy with them.

Take back your day, and congrats!

Reply:Oh my. A wee bit of a drama queen isn't she? I am sorry you have to deal with this at all! This is insane. I wouldn't change a thing if I was you.

She should be the one calling these people and explaining to them that she forgot it wasn't her wedding and that she made a mistake. But if you have to call them (to make it easy on her and out of the kindness of your heart) call them and tell them that your m-i-l to be made a mistake. You know how do to it tactfully I am sure.

As far as making her sick.......it isn't the changes that made her sick. It is herself that made her sick!

I hope it all works out!
Reply:How you interract with your in-laws now will determine how you'll act for the length of the marriage.

I think it's sweet, and a show of love, that your mother in law cares so much, but it is your wedding and so I'd make things the way you want them.

I wouldn't let your mother or father in law to contact anyone. I'd ask your husband to do it, quickly, quietly and have him personally explain why you were doing it.

Don't burden your in-laws, and don't burden yourself. It's his job because it's his family.
Reply:this is your day that you're paying for and you should have what you want because you will be miserable if you look back and see all the things she forced upon you! sit down and tell his mom that you love that she wants to help so much and really appreciate her input but you've already made a lot of the decisions and because so much has already been done you just can't go back and change things like the colors you picked! i think that's pretty crappy to say she's making herself sick over you wedding. sounds like another dramatic action for her to get what she wants! don't let them guilt you into anything! you deserve what you want to have. just be as nice and as firm as possible!
Reply:Take charge and don't let her do this now or believe me, she will try and take charge of more then your wedding.

Be kind and tell her that this is not what is going to happen. Remember this is your day not hers and tell your husband to talk to her and let her know that you both still love her. Don't give in, we mother-in-laws need to know that our son's now have a main woman in their life and need to let go a little.
Reply:I'd tell them it's your wedding and you already had it planned how you wanted and it's her fault all of these uninvited people were invited by her, so she has to undo the mess she caused. Girl, you better stick to your guns on this one, or she's gonna pull this her whole life as long as you are with her son. Don't let her "medical" issues threaten you, I don't care if she isn't faking it or not, she brought this on herself, it's not your fault. Tell his dad that if it's too hard for her to call these people then he can do it for her. Or, you can do it and tell all of them what she did, I'm sure you'll probably look like the bad guy but who cares, it's YOUR wedding, not hers or theirs. It's your day and who cares if these people and your mother in law get P'd off! Also, while you're telling her or your father in law that they need to call these people, tell them that you like the colors you picked (if those other people aren't in it, then you don't have to worry about the colors).

Why Do Men Wait For A Special Occasion To Show There Mate How Much They Love Them?

Ladies, how many of you have men who wait until a special occasion before they buy you flowers or chocolates or does something nice for you? If they are with you and love you all so very much, shouldn't they be showing that love 24-7, 365 instead of when a particular day and/or date comes up? Again, LADIES, is this something you are comfortable with or are you really wishing that your mate would show a little more LOVE when its not a certain day of the year. I ain't hatin' on the fella's, I'm just trying to get at a basic truth here and find out what the LADIES have to say about the matter at hand. LADIES, EXPRESS YOURSELF!!!

You're a guy, so I guess I should be asking YOU that question :)

My boyfriend used to be like that. He always thought I'd be around and didn't really appreciate me. One day I got sick of it and said something. Usually it takes more than saying something one time for it to make a change, but he did. Now he appreciates me all the time. He does really cute little things. For example, he bought me this silly St. Patrick's Day pin at work one day. I thought it was so sweet! I love little things like this. When he has a day off and I have to work, he always cooks me dinner. I'm really lucky...and I remember to APPRECIATE IT!

How do you dry flowers in a book?

How do you dry flowers in a book?
    hey there...

yes..it work..i do it to my beloved mother......and make a creative card to...very beautiful and nice........

try this to make ur own dry flower..

.....place a paper towel (or two) on top of a flat bottomed ceramic or glass plate, then place flower on toweling... add another paper towel (or 2) on top of that

.....place a second plate on top of your last paper towel

.... microwave for 15-30 seconds (high?)... check to see if they are dry.

........if not, re-microwave them at 15-30 second increments until they are dry (if paper towels become too damp, replace with dry ones)

(.....can also use blotter paper, but still use paper towel right next to flower)

...can microwave multiple flowers at one time if they aren't overlapped (but takes a bit longer, and some color may be lost)

...may be best to let flowers continue drying after microwaving for awhile (even overnight) to get rid of all moisture in thicker areas

Or flowers can be dried so they stay dimensional by using a drying agent around them with the microwave... .for a bit more info on doing that, check out this page:

    http://glassattic.com/polymer/mixing_med...

(click on *Dried Nature*, then scroll down to the subcategory "Quick Drying Flowers"...)
Reply:If you've lready put them in a book, you're done. I hope you placed them flat in a normal appearance. Now all you do is apply white glue and glue them to the paper. A very soft paintbrush works well. And you have to make sure the entire surface of the flower is covered. Any area left unglued will snap off.

    Clematis and Japanese Wysteria?

i have 2 young wysteria vines comming froma friend, these vines are taken from cuttings but still wont flower for at least 2 yrs.

I already have wysteria growing up a trellis doing great, i LOVE it, now i find myself looking for places to put these 2 new vines.

right now i have a bed on either side of my large french doors. there is young clematis growing up either side. which will be cut back to 12" after the sweet autumn has done flowering.

I was wondering if i could plant the wysteria vines in the same beds as the clematis (one on either side of the doors).

Would the whysteria choke out the clematis? or viseversa would the clematis choke the wysteria? id think the clematis would climb through the wysteria making it a gorgeous all season show of flowers.

would that work without killing the plants? (there is plenty of room for the wysterias roots to spread, im just worried abotu it chocking my clematis vines.

    Clematis and Japanese Wysteria?
There are apparently two schools of thought on this specific question. The one is that, as you say, when the clematis is cut down you still have the wisteria as a focal point of interest; the other is that the clematis, being less aggressive, may be choked out by the wisteria.

My suggestion would be to try it, see if you like the effect, and over the years you could always transplant the clematis if it just doesn't thrive.

There is a link below showing how to prepare for the planting of these, as well as two links showing the differing arguments.

    Happy Gardening!!!
Reply:The main problem with Wisteria is the weight. You will need a large arbour to hold up these plants as they reach maturity, their vines look like tree trunks and will pull down anything but the most sturdy of structures. Hopefully your Wisteria will bloom in two years, some take up to seven.

I agree that it would be lovely to intertwine the two plants and would go ahead and do it. Just make sure that you add enough fertilizer. Good luck and remember to take a lot of before and after pictues.
Reply:I'd pretty much guarantee the Wisteria would win that battle in no time.

    Show names for horses?

I have a mini shetland called Flower, she is skewbald and I want to think of a show name for her but none have come to my mind..

    Can anybody think of any?

    Thanks =) x
    Show names for horses?
HighOnAHurricane, I believe she meant a barn name and a stable name. For instance, my horse is named Lyra, however her "fancy" showname is Southern Miss. It has nothing to do with the name the horse is registered under, if any.

As for the name..since her barn name is Flower you can do alot with the show name if you want the show name to have anything with the barn name.

You could, if you wanted, pick your favorite flower and add something to it.

Examples: Tiger Lily, Blooming Rose, Morning Dew, Sweet Daisy, Flora...

Or, you could go another direction and pick a random show name. It's really your choice. Personally, I think you should pick a name yourself. Only you know her personality.

If you'd really like us to pick a name, perhaps posting a pic would help?

What can I do for my wife to show her how much I love her?
First and foremost, come back alive.

Heck, not just for her, for all of us here in America.

    Something creative you could do--

well, I'm not sure how much time this'd take--I know your time is pretty regimented--

If your wife had a PO Box, you could recruit people online to send postcards giving encouragement for while she waits for you.

I know that sounds far-fetched, but I'd do it for you. It'd be a unique way to tell her you're thinking of her and can't wait to get home to her.

    Here's how I'd do it:

Post a thread here in Yahoo Answers telling people you're a soldier in Iraq, and can't write your wife as often as you'd like, and you wonder if some people would help you out by sending postcards to her so she'd know not only that you love her but that others care, too.

If you're a member of other online communities you could post in there as well.

Obviously you don't want to post your home address, so a PO Box is needed, or perhaps people could send postcards to your local church and have the pastor deliver them. Or perhaps you have a friend with a PO Box who'd be willing to share....

Brightest blessings on you and your family.

I hope you find something inspiring and helpful in the answers you receive in here.

My daughter is a flower girl in a wedding along with another little girl, what should i do?

money is tight for the other little girls family so she is wearing a "hand me down" dress that is kind of old fashioned. I have bought my daughter a brand new dress which is really beautiful. and the mother has already approached me and said that she doesnt want my daughter to still the show bec she doesnt have enough money to buy her "fancy things" so what should i do ? take my daughters dress back or keep it?
My daughter is a flower girl in a wedding along with another little girl, what should i do?
The bride should have informed you both of the dress she would like her flower girls to wear. I would talk to the bride and let her know what is going on. They should have matching dresses if it is a formal wedding, but otherwise, I see no problem with them not matching. Also, how old are these girls?? Chances are they won't even notice the difference in dresses. Also, I can't imagine you daughter would "steal the show" just by wearing a new dress. Sounds like mom is feeling guilty she can't afford a new dress for her daughter. I would keep the dress, otherwise what are you going to do, hunt every Goodwill in town to see if you can find a dress?????? The other mom should just get over it.
Reply:I would have a chat with the bride and the mother of the bride and ask what they think would be best. I understand the woman's dilemma--few people have much income these days--but it was in poor taste to come complaining to you.
Reply:Take the 2 girls shopping together and try to find a nice simple dress that they can get that matches then if the other mother still needs a little money help you can offer some from the money you saved returning the other one. Maybe you moms can add a little ribbon or something.

I think the other mother was not trying to be rude, she was protecting her daughter (what if the other little girl had some super-fancy designer dress that made your dress look drab? Would you try to keep up with the Jones' or just be honest and say I simply can't afford something that fancy, is there something else we can do?)

I respect you for wanting to make your daughter feel pretty and wear a nice dress for the wedding, but I also respect the other mother that was honest enough to say I can't afford to do that.

I wouldn't deny your daughter a new dress, but maybe take into consideration how the 2 will look next to each other (then picture the 2 girls in opposite dresses).

Talk to the bride and see what she suggests.

    Good luck.
Reply:I really think there's nothing that you can do. I mean it's unfair for the mom to say that to you. In that case she shouldn't have accepted the invite for her daughter to be in the wedding. I mean, what can you do?! You're not going to have your daughter looking like a ragamuffin because of the other flower girl. You've done all you can do. What if you get a dress like your daughter's and give it to the bride to give as a gift to the mother? She won't know that it came from you. The bride has to be close with the woman to have her daughter in the wedding. Good Luck!
Reply:You should keep it. That was incredibly rude of the mother to say that to you. Your daughter is not going to steal the show because of her dress. I think that the bride should have purchased dresses if she knew that one of the flower girls wouldn't be able to afford them.

Can I make another suggestion? When my cousin got married, his mother sewed dresses for the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids. If you have a seamstress in the family, perhaps she can do that, if the bride is willing to shell out a little for fabric and a simple pattern. Really, this isn't your problem to deal with. I understand that everyone is having financial difficulties, but if the bride and groom can't afford to have a huge wedding, then they should cut down, rather than expecting everyone else to take care of it. It is really gracious of you to offer to buy a dress after she was so rude to you. It's really not your responsibility to worry about.
Reply:You could buy it and have the bride give it to the other mom. As if the bride bought the matching dress as a nice gesture, or as if that is what the bride wanted. She doesn't have to know it came from you.
Reply:I agree that the mother was rude. If she knew she couldn't afford a nicer one then she should not have accepted the invitation from the Bride-to-be for her daughter to BE a flower girl. I also agree that you should take this problem to the Bride and work something out. hopefully.
Reply:You know, this is a tough situation. And it was generous of you to offer to buy the other little girl a dress, but it is also understandable that the family did not want to accept.

I would think that the thing to do is to remember that everyone is celebrating a sacred union, and shouldn't go into debt or spend the grocery money to do so. If you are significantly better off than everyone (or at least than the bride, and the family of the other flower girl, which is enough), it is natural that you might want to be sensitive to that.

I know her dress must be beautiful, but perhaps this isn't the occasion for it. I agree with the folks who suggest buying a dress that seems to go better with the dress that the other little girl will be wearing.

I guess the other child's mother was a bit incorrect to mention it. It would have been more politic to have the bride discuss it with you, particularly since she probably would have objected just as much to any obvious disparity between the girls. I think each having her own dress is sweet, but they shouldn't look like they come from different social classes.
Reply:Buy a second dress for the other little girl so that they "match".
Reply:You bought your daughter a pretty dress, and she should wear it.

If money is tight for the other family, then they should not have agreed to let their daughter be a flower girl. They should have politely declined, explaining to bride and groom that they were unable to afford it.

I think you should approach the bride with this problem. Tell her you were/are willing to buy the other child a dress, but fear it will offend the mother. I think you should let the bride handle this one. As Amy P suggested, perhaps she can present a new dress quietly, as a gift to the child? Or she can speak with the mom, explaining that whatever your daughter wears is not her (the other mom's) decision, and in no way takes away from the other girl.

Little girls are cute, no matter what they are wearing. I think other mom is way out of line, and should never have said a word about it to you. You work hard, and should be able to buy your child whatever you wish. My advice is let bride handle this one.
Reply:Why don't you return the dress and buy a dress for your daughter that looks better with the other girl's dress and isn't obviously expensive?
Reply:Hi. This is out of your hands. Inform the bride and/or her mother. I'm actually surprised that the bride just let each of you pick out a dress. Usually, if there are 2 flower girls, it's nice to have matching dresses. I don't know what to tell you other than to turn the matter over to the bride and see what she wants to do.

Perhaps you can come to a happy medium? Maybe between you and the bride you can buy the other little girl a dress? Just an idea.

Edit: Ok, I just saw your added notes. If the bride is strapped too....then it doesn't leave you any choice. I would keep the dress for your little girl. If you want, offer the other mother to buy her girl a dress, and if she refuses, so be it. But, keep the dress for your girl.
Reply:I thought flower girls were supposed to be in matching dresses? Not sure about that. Anyway I would probably just ask the bride and see what she says. You could keep the dress for another special occasion and try to get a dress that matches the other? If the other flower girl's family couldn't afford to get a really good dress and the bride wanted the girl in the wedding, she should have paid for the dress herself, that would have been better. Talk to the bride anyway.
Reply:Well I can understand the other mother's concern, and while it is a difficult position to put you in it is a horrible feeling to not have the money to make your child look the same as someone she will be standing next to in public. I think the most gracious thing you could do is ( if you can afford it ) buy the other girl the same dress and talk to the bride or her family about it ( whoever is paying for the wedding ) and see if they won't present the dress to the mother as if it came from them.... You could consider it your wedding present or contribution to the bride.

I know it is asking a lot of you, and technically it is not your responsibility to do this. I just think it would be an amazing and wonderfully generous gesture ( especially if you do it without taking credit by having the brides family "provide" the dress to the other mother to give to her child)

  • When given a bouquet of flowers, do you change the water everyday, or just add water to it?

my new boyfriend is so sweet, he sends me flowers everyother week. I want to keep them in good condition, but its really tiring to change the vase water everyday, and sometimes i dont really have alot of time for that. However, I want them to last a long time and show him that I really appreciate them. What are some tips to keep bouquet flowers lasting?
When given a bouquet of flowers, do you change the water everyday, or just add water to it?
I usually make sure there are no leaves below the water line so the vase is less likely to get slimy. Then I put about 1/2 of the packet of plant food that comes with the flowers (or a little Sprite) in the vase along with cool water. I check the water level every day or so and add water as needed. On about the 4th or 5th day I change out the water, discard any wilted flowers, rinse the stems, clean the vase out, and put the remaining plant food in the vase along with cool water and the remaining flowers. I check the water levels as before and keep those babies going as long as possible.

Some flowers have a longer life as cut flowers than others. Roses and tulips generally have a relatively short life, but carnations often last for quite a long time.
Reply:drop an aspirin into the water
Reply:change the water everyday.it will kepp them fresh and beautiful.
Reply:Idd, try dissolving small amounts of aspirin, it keeps em mint :)

Also, it should work if you only change the water every 3 days or so...
Reply:I don't know if this is the "appropriate" thing to do, but I just add water to the vase rather than completely changing the water.

I've also heard that adding some clear soda such as sprite or seven-up to the water helps them last longer. The sugar helps feed them.

Try this website for some good tips on keeping flowers fresh:

    http://www.aboutflowers.com/floral_b3.ht...
Reply:Be sure that there are no leaves inside the vase, and in the water. This will avoid any bad smell. Plus this helps to have clear, nice water for longer.

You will need, thoug, to chance the water every 2-3 days for the flowers and bouquet in general to stay pretty. When changing water, try to rinse the stems (just a little water to clean them) Add an ice cube or two (depending on the amount of water and size fo your bouquet) to the new water, and you are set to go! Your flowers will be pretty for longer. It has worked for me :-) Good luck!
Reply:When getting flowers there's usually a pachet that goes with them. Put that into the water and just keep adding to the water or you wont get the full use out of that pachet. Spray some hair spray over it all and it should last 2 weeks. I think Mythbusters busted the asprin idea. Hairspray was the only one that worked.

What are some drawings that can be great for an art exhibition?

pretend like you're looking at an ideal piece for an art show... even if it's as simple as a flower in a vase on a table or some love poetry looking thing or whatever... tell me something you'd like to see in an art exhibition that you would buy.
What are some drawings that can be great for an art exhibition?
    Depends on the exhibition.

    What's the theme?

Is it juried or a solo show?

    Who's the artist?

What's their medium, style, or technique?

    Composition and content are important.

The work has to hit me emotionally, visually too.

It must NOT match my drapes, my couch or anything else in my home.

What else can I do to impress this girl and to show her that I really like her?

I know I should probably move on from this girl that I really like because when I asked her if she like me more than a friend she said "I don't know, its hard, I like you as a friend though" and I will continue to be her friend and hopefully she will want to hang out again, I'm not sure what kind of guy she is looking for, but I've been sooooo nice to her and have treated her like she was my girlfriend, She does like the preppy guy which I am kind of, I have nice clothes, I'm 18 yrs. old I'm 6'4, I'am trying to gain weight because I'm really skinny i'm only 165 lbs, I like to workout, I like to play basketball, I'm nice, funny at least i've been told. when I look at some of the guys she hangs out with they aren't that great looking No offense to them but they are for sure the preppy kind of guys. I have braces but they are coming off in like a month, what should I do to show her that I can be more than a friend and that I really like her still. I've sent her flowers on valentines day.
What else can I do to impress this girl and to show her that I really like her?
All you can do is continue to be her friend. Just don't put your life on hold waiting for her. Maybe if you start to show interest in someone else, it will open her eyes to what she has been missing! ;)
Reply:I cannot ever, ever, EVER stress this enough to guys as a relationship tip.

PAY ATTENTION to what she says! It is the key to a girl's heart. Whether she does it on purpose or accidentally, she will drop hints about things she likes, things she wants, etc. Sometimes she won't say it, but she'll look at something, for example, while window shopping she'll spend a particularly long time lingering on something. Make a mental note of this and come back for it later and see if it's in your price range... and if it is, get it for her.

This shows to this girl that you not only pay attention to her and that you're focused on her, but that you intend to make her happy by doing things she wants to do and giving her things she wants. She'll fall for you before you know it.
Reply:Prove that you love her,it ain't all about spending money write a poem..cook dinner..rent a movie be more romantic try some of m advise that's what I like about boys or take advise and ask what is she entrusted in...
Reply:Maybe try giving her space to make her realize how much you do like her and do for her. As a female, I know if a guy tries really hard to get a girl's attention, it sometimes backfires because there's no "challenge" in it. You seem to be a nice guy and if she realizes this, then I'm sure she'll soon come around. Try to be yourself and not overdo it. You never know, there could be another girl under your nose that's just right for you! Good Luck!
Reply:i know at 18 its hard to get over someone you really like, but she needs to date around and try to see what she really like.Trust me its better for her to date plenty of guys and say..nope dont like this or yes this is the kinda guy i like. She will in years realize that it really pays to date the nice guy rather then some preppy into his looks kinda guy.
Reply:You're doing everything wrong! Girls desire things they cannot have. Your game is all wrong. It may be too late for this one, but to get a girl to like you you should treat her like crap and disrespect her. Be unavailable, rude, and date her best friend if you can. Then she will do anything to have you!
Reply:DO NOT LISTEN TO LARRY H.

THAT WILL NOT WORK. SHE WILL HATE YOU THEN
Reply:It sounds like all that you are worried about is what you look like. Girls arent only interrested in the physical, get to know her better so she can see your personality.

I have caterpillars that keep devouring my flowers!?

Any idea how I can keep small caterpillars away from potted flowers? I live on the 3rd floor, and have a few pots out on my balcony, and noticed that little caterpillars have appeared and are literally eating the flowers down to the nubs. They are just your average Home Depot bought flowers, but they were lovely until the caterpillars started showing up. If I see them, I've removed them from the flowers and toss them down into a garden area, but they keep coming back. Even if I don't see them, they keep leaving tell-tale signs of droppings and small holes all over the flower petals and leaves.

Any of you green-thumbers have suggestions? I live in S. California and the caterpillars are small opaque eggshell-colored or creamy light green color.

The flowers have been growing back slowly and the greenery is actually thriving - it's just the actual flowers that are being eaten up almost over night so they never last more than a couple days before they're gone.
I have caterpillars that keep devouring my flowers!?
What you have are tobacco "budworms". An insect native to America. They are quite gregarious when it comes to devouring flowers. Best time to find them active is at dusk, when they come out from hiding and begin to feed. Their favorite flowers are petunias, geraniums, and snapdragons, but will eat many varieties. The budworm is the larvae of a moth. Alot of the time their color is determined by the color of the flowers they are eating. When young they are light green to light brown. When they reach the right size and stop feeding, they will drop to the soil and pupate. They will emerge as adult moths later on down the road, and the whole process starts over again. You can control them by going to any garden center and purchasing an insecticide that has Synthetic "Pyrethrenes" as it's main ingredient. Or you can wait until dusk and handpick them. Ortho does have a garden insect spray which comes in an aerosol can. If you have only a few plants, this might be right for you. It's only a couple dollars from the pocketbook but well worth keeping the flowers looking good. The budworm is most prevalent during the hot summer months as you have already noticed. Iam providing you a link with some info and pics on the budworm from Colorado State University. Hope this answers your question.

Reply:Try spraying with Neem (Azadirachtin) .

It is a non-toxic, biodegradable substance, which has natural insecticidal properties. It discourages caterpillar by making the plant unpalatable. It does have some systemic effect in plants.

    http://www.botanical.com/site/column_pou...

Chemical treatments %26amp; Bacillus Thuringiensis and Pyrethrins (both are the biopesticides) are variable in their effectiveness.

Picking off the large caterpillars is the first step.

I've been able to kill the eggs of the moths by spraying them with sour milk. Also, by sprinkling flour on my plants while they are wet, the caterpillars will get pasted as they crawl up to the plant, suffocate %26amp; fall off.

Here's a chart including flour as as pesticide for cabbage loopers which are caterpillars:

    http://www.altelco.net/~myone/organic_in...

It seems unbelievable that such simple non-toxic items can be pesticides, but knowing that the caustic nature of sour milk is what kills the eggs or that coating the caterpillars suffocates them, helps make sense of these methods.

Since the nasty taste of Neem keeps the caterpillars from eating plants, some people make similar nasty-tasting sprays of hot pepper %26amp; garlic to do the same thing.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Persian Lilac is closely related to Neem, %26amp; that the dried leaves and twigs have been used for centuries to protect cloth, books and leather. The seeds possess insecticidal propreties as well. Its leaves are "insecticidal, repellent, antifeedant, growth inhibiting".

Here's some more pest control remedies:

Good luck! Hope this is helpful.

  • How long does it generally take tomato plants to fruit after they produce flowers?

My potted plants have produced flowers already, going on two or three weeks now. They show no signs of disease or deficiency, and I've watered frequently, sometimes using peroxide, and had an alternating regimen of normal fertilizer and comfrey tea. It is hella hot here in Texas though, so perhaps the high temperature has something to do with it. They are in partial sunlight and recieve about 4-5 hours of direct light each day.
How long does it generally take tomato plants to fruit after they produce flowers?
It's probably too late for your plants to produce fruit (but hang in there anyway). Fruit won't set when night temps exceed 75%26lt;sigh%26gt;. When I was on the gulf coast I'd plant on Valentines day. Now I'm in the panhandle and plant on St. Pat's day and just finished my harvest of Roma's and the Celebrity will be done in another week. I'll be planting my fall tomatoes Aug 1st.

Peroxide does *nothing* for tomatoes in Texas! Comfrey tea is also a waste (those help the folks way up north from here%26lt;G%26gt;).

Here are some links for you with good Texas advice.
Reply:Could be the flowers are not getting pollinated???? I know that there is a shortage of bees that pollinate. I had that problem and just touched each flower gently with my finger and repeated so around the plant to help spread the pollen. I think I read somewhere that you should use a small paint brush, but my finger seemed to work. There is probably a better technical description using pistol and stamen, etc somewhere on the internet but my simple way seemed to work fine. Good luck. I hope that is your problem.
Reply:They need lots of heat, so that's a good sign. I've had my tomatoes flowering for months now and just recently I've seen baby tomatoes. They take a while to ripen, but the heat speeds up the processs. It depends on how old your plant is. Good luck.
Reply:That depends upon your soil, how often you water, and whether or not you provided some sort of nutrients for them. But generally you can expect to see tomatoes within two weeks...and potentially ready in up to six to eight weeks after the flower.

What causes Zantedeschia (calla lily) dark colored flowers to have "albino" spots?

The white spots (some streaks) appear on numerous cultivars, in varied light and soil conditions, and appear to be a lack of pigment rather than disease. The tubers look fine and show no signs of rot. The flowers are not misshapen. The spots don't appear on the leaves, although some are naturally spotted. A search of numerous .edu Web sites discuss several fungal and viral problems to which callas are susceptible but none with the symptoms I am seeing. Thanks for any help

How do I translate Shakespeare into modern language?

    A Midsummer Night's Dream Act 2, Scene 1;

Oberon desribes the magical flower %26amp; its powers:

That very time I saw (but thou couldst not),

Flying between the cold moon and the earth,

Cupid all armed. A cetain aim he took

At a fair vestal throned by [the] west,

And loosed his lofe-shaft smartly from his bow

As it should pierce a hundred thousand hearts.

But I might see young Cupid's fiery shaft

Quenched in the chaste beams of the wat'ry moon,

And the imperial vot-ress passed on

    In maiden meditation, fancy-free.

Yet marked I where the bolt of Cupid fell.

It fell upon a little western flower,

Before, milk-white, now purple with love's wound,

    And maidens call it "love-in-idleness."

Fetch me that flower; the herb I showed thee once

The juice of it on sleeping eyelids laid

Will make or man or woman madly dote

Upon the next live creature that it sees

Fretch me this herb, and be thou here again

Ere the leviathan can swim league.
How do I translate Shakespeare into modern language?
That same night, I saw Cupid flying from the moon to the earth, with all of his arrows ready. (You couldn't see him, but I could.) He took aim at a beautiful young virgin who was sitting on a throne in the western part of the world, and he shot his arrow of love well enough to have pierced a hundred thousand hearts. But I could see that Cupid's fiery arrow was put out by watery, virginal moonbeams, so the royal virgin continued her virginal thoughts without being interrupted by thoughts of love. But I paid attention to where Cupid's arrow fell. It fell on a little western flower, which used to be white as milk but now has turned purple from being wounded by the arrow of love. Young girls call it “love-in-idleness.” Bring me that flower. I showed it to you once. If its juice is put on someone's eyelids while they're asleep, that person will fall in love with the next living creature he or she sees. Bring me this plant, and get back here before the sea monster has time to swim three miles.

If you have anymore trouble go to sparknotes.com they have books called " No fear Shakespeare" this gives you the original text and the modern English text.

If you are unsure try checking with your county extension agent, they are a good source for local information or they can refer you to some master gardeners in your area to assist you. To plant to early, if you do you might end up being very disappointed.
Reply:This question has a lot of different parts to it.

#1: Look your plant up. You need to know if its an annual (dies at the end of the season) or perennial ( comes back at the beginning of next Spring). What Zone its for ( this will tell you how warm it has to be before you can plant it).

#2: Wait until it stays above freezing in your zone for 3-4 weeks ( for bulbs and perennials ), and make sure the ground isn't frozen as deep as you have to put in the plant (this will kill/damage the roots)

    I hope this has helped

If all else fails take it to a nursery or garden center( I stay away from big box garden centers when I have a question)

Cross a true-breeding blue flower with a true-breeding yellow flower?

Suppose you cross a true-breeding blue flower with a true-breeding yellow flower. In the next generation, all of the flowers are blue. What does this outcome tell you about the allele for blue flowers?

    A.

    The blue allele is sex-linked.

    B.

The blue allele is recessive to the yellow allele.

    C.

The blue allele is dominant to the yellow allele.

    D.

The blue allele shows incomplete dominance.
Cross a true-breeding blue flower with a true-breeding yellow flower?
Call the allele for blue flowers B and the one for yellow flowers Y.

A true-breeding specimen must be homozygous, so the blue flowers must have the genotype BB and the yellow ones must be YY. (If a flower were BY, it could pass either color to its offspring, so some of the offspring wouldn't be the same color, so it wouldn't be true-breeding.)

Now when you cross a flower with genotype BB with one with genotype YY, all the offspring will be BY.

If a BY flower appears blue, then the blue allele must be dominant.

Therefore C is the correct answer.
Reply:enough of the punnet square crap, it will be green!!!
Reply:I would have to believe that the blue allele is dominant to the yellow allele, however, upon subsequent generations, you may find yellow flowers or color striated flowers thrown in. Just my opinion. I'm not a botanist or geneticist...not even close.

  • Why is it that some people show alot of emtion to some and little or no to others?

I have a friend that i have seen go thru 2 bad relationships and it makes me wonder why she seems to "hold back" on emotions. even small things like hugging or holding hands. and yet if she met someone at a bar, she would open up like a flower. she has confided so much to me (we have known each other a year and a half and no, there is no relationship there, we are friends) and yet when i go to hug her after seeing her, she is very cold or she pulls away or does not even bother to respond at all. (i know that i showered so i dont think that is the problem) this is frustrating and causing me to have concerns for any underlying problems... any thoughts on this would be appreciated....

How to show her she's special to me?

I have a very dear friend who lives overseas, so it's difficult to show her what she means to me.

I've actually had notions of her as a girlfriend in the past... and although she is very fond of me, she's made it clear that the 'boyfriend/girlfriend' thing isn't ever going to happen.

Up to date, I've written letters to her, sent her greeting cards, have arranged flowers for birthdays and for no reason at all and have made many long-distance phone calls, all of which have been well-received but I'm looking for some ideas of other things that I can do to *show* her that she is special to me (even 'just' as a dear, close friend) - it's the old 'actions speak louder than words' thing - but my imagination has deserted me(!)

One of the difficulties is that she is not very romantic and is not sentimental at all, which is completely opposite to me, so things that I would consider 'meaningful' have almost no significance to her.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have.
How to show her she's special to me?
Well, since she has expressed there won't be a girlfriend/boyfriend thing ever happening I would just continue as you are. She obviously considers you a dear friend since you chat to each other etc - going overboard with the gifts etc may scare her off you.

i need some ideas of something really, really, really special, not dinner and flowers coz its tacky, but something that can show them that im truely in this for the long haul and that i will always be the one for them.

im 24 and they are 34, i am not good at romantic stuff, but its important to me to do this for them and for myself.

    Thanks
Whats the best way to show someone you love them more than ever?
Well if you're ready for a Very Long relationship.....Pop the BIG QUESTION;-) Weather you do it alone at your favorite place to hang out or right in front of family and friends, what matters is the effort and the suprise look to see that person's face.
Reply:You should tell her that you are really serious about her, you love her %26amp; that you want a deep commitment. Dinner %26amp; flowers is NOT tacky, so you should go ahead %26amp; buy her some red roses %26amp; maybe you can cook her dinner (if you even know how to cook), otherwise take her out to eat somewhere. If you don't want to buy her roses %26amp; dinner, then buy her chocolates, make her a poem %26amp; be intimate for the evening.
Reply:The best way to show someone is to tell them. It sounds sappy but if you write a letter it'll make her heart melt plus she'll have it to look back on when she's missing you. Why not spend a day doing everything she wants to do? Whether that be just chilling out and watching a movie at home or enjoying a really nice dinner. Actions speak louder than words, but words last forever. I'd just tell her.
Reply:i don't know if they have hot air balloon rides in your area but they are so.... romantic.

though, i don't think its so much what you do but what you say. try writing your love one a beautiful letter. maybe even a "promise" ring where you can show them how much you love them and how serious you are about the relationship.

    good luck.
    Reply:tell them straight up
Reply:If you S.O is moveing to the UK to be with you then...a ring? An engagment ring(if you are ready for that) or a promise ring for a girl. Or a simple gold promise ring for a guy (don't know about UK law about gay unions).
Reply:hmmm thats tough... there has to be something ur significant other is a sucker for so what ever that is do it... and then tell them how you feel and how much ur gonna miss them

Am confused can someome show me dresses of blue and white for the girls , and flowers for decoration?

    What about something like this?

    http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/...

I have it in light blue, but it would work for navy if that's what you meant.

For the centrepieces, why not just go for elegant white? Unless you really like blue iris', they could look great in a tall vase.

Check out www.anntaylor.com--she has blue dresses and you can add a sash in white or ivory. Also www.jcrew.com has some lovely dresses in various blues. You should use seasonal flowers so it depends on what time of year the wedding is--the lime hydrangeas mixed with various white flowers, tiny iris mixed with whites and yellows, or simply hand tied bouquets of garden roses, freesia, and stephanotis would be lovely. What is the genotype of a blue-flowered plant and what gametes would it produce as a result of meiosis?

The full question sounds like this:

Most individuals of a certain wild flower have white petals, but a few are blue. Crosses have shown that the blue color is due to a recessive allele. Use "W" for white and "w" for blue.

The blue flowered plant has a genotype of ww. It only produces w-type gametes.

How many flowers should Joanna estimate she needs for this wedding?

Joanne works for a florist. She needs to estimate how many flowers to order for 12 wedding bouqeets. She did similiar bouqets for two weddings in the past. For on she used 72 roses for 5 similar bouets and for the other, she made 16 similar bouqets using 243.

The numbers don't quite match, but let's use hte higher ratio to be safe.

243/16 roses per bouquet means 12 bouquets will require

    12*243/16 = 183 roses
Reply:Well in the first one she used (72/5) 14.4 roses in each bouquet. in the second wedding she used (243/16) 15.18 roses per bouquet. I would average the 2 previous weddings together (14.4+15.18)/2 to get 14.79 roses.

12 wedding bouquets at 14.79 roses (12x14.79)=177.48,178 roses.
    Reply:(243-72)/(16-5) = 15.5

    y = 15,5x +b

    72= 15.5(5) +B --%26gt; b = -5.5

    y = 15.5x- 5.5

    y(12) = 15.5*12 -7.5 = 181

    Greetings,

assuming a linear relationship between the number of bouquets and the number of flowers

f = mb + c, where m is the slope of the line and c is the intercept

    72 = 5m + c

    243 = 16m + c

    subtracting the two equations gives

    171 = 11 m

    m = 15.5

    72 = 5*15.5 + c, substituting back into the first equation gives

    c = 72 - 5*15.5

    c = -5.5

    f = 15.5b - 5.5, for 12 bouquets

    f = 15.5(12) - 5.5

    f = 180.5

She would need 181 flowers for 12 bouquets

    Regards
Reply:Joanne has more experience that a lot of people. Why can't she figure it out? I would know what I want without her experience. You go with what you want. Simplicity is the key, I think. The plain and simple with a ribbon or etc. would be perfect. It would be elegant. It doesn't have to cost a lot or weigh you down carrying it down the isle to be the right thing.
Reply:72 roses for 5 wedding bouquet.

On the average, 72/5 =12.4 roses for 1 wedding.

In the other situation, 243 roses for 16 weddings.

    On the average, 243/16 = 15 %26amp; 3/16 for 1 wedding.

So, based on these 2 numbers, for 12 weddings, she needs anywhere between 144 and 180 roses.
