Season 3, Just saw when Flower died (I'm currently about 2 episodes behind.. trying to catch up). I cried when I found out that the snake bit her face, it looked horribly swollen. Who never expected her to die? I didn't. You'd never see the star of the show die!!! Some expendable lackey, but not the star!!!
I know she was just a mongoose, but she was a member of my family! Same as if my dog got bitten! Any thought about Flower?
Who watches Meerkat manor? (homage to Flower)?
I LOVE that show, however I was so very sad when I saw that episode!!! I loved Flower like I love my dog. I never expected her to die. I was sad the whole week and thought about not watching the show anymore, but I couldn't stay away. I had to know how the Whiskers survived with out her. I am glad I kept watching because...well I won't explain cause I don't want to ruin it for you. It's just a great show. All those little meerkats remind me of my dog. They are so cute. We have them at our zoo and I could watch them for hours!!! I am glad that I am not the only one that thinks of them like my dog!!! =)
Reply:I know how you feel. I love shows like that but I hate when stuff like that happens. At first I thought oh well, it's not going to be that bad and that she would recover. But then realized they can't get to a doctor to get it fixed and she would probably die. She was just a mongoose and it is the way of nature but what a horrible way for any living thing to die.
Reply:I 'mstill sad about Flower. But where the bite was there was nothing anyone could do. I'm also sad about Squiggy. In my heart I felt the researchers should have retrieved him and shipped him to a zoo where the little guy would have a chance. He had just watched his brother Len carried off by a hawk. Poor little baby. Just brace yourself for next season. Major changes in the family Whiskers, Starsky and all. I love the meerkats.
Reply:It was sad, but I wasn't too surprised. It's not a scripted show- its simply what really happens to their family. The naturalists and filmmakers aren't allowed to interfere, so there was no one to save her. And her son, Shakespeare, did in the first season. :-(.
I really wouldn't say that any of them are expendable though...
Reply:I love this show! I cried so much. And what makes it sadder is it's real and it all really happens. The researchers can't do anything about it b/c well then it wouldn't be valid research. And if they hadn't been there it would have happened anyways. :(
However they are making movie! Flower: Queen of the Meerkats (at least that's title right now!)! I'm so happy they are making a film dedicated to her!
R.I.P dear Flower
