What kind of shoes should I wear in this situation?

I'm 14, and in the school play, and I am a television hostess on a talk show. I have found the perfect dress to wear for the occasion-- a longsleeve black dress that cuts off right below the knee and has gold flowers on it. Unfortunately, I cant find the right shoes-- i own a pair of black flats(which are kinda scuffed up) and black pumps that look great with the dress. The dilemna is that this is a Monty Python-like play, and during one point I literally need to be running around stage, and do a stage-fall. The black flats are really comfy, and the pumps-- not so much. My parents wont let me buy any new shoes either.. some help Please!!!
What kind of shoes should I wear in this situation?
in theater, comfort and safety are the key. first check with your director and ask them what he/she thinks. my suggestion would be to go with the flats for safety and in addition, that time period, heels weren't very common (i've done a lot of period costuming, so i know this). however...also keep in mind that you can ask around to other students/family members etc and find out if they have any shoes that may work that you could borrow. definitely talk to your director! :) break a leg!
Reply:I say the flats. I've been in plays before, and people don't really see your shoes much. The more comfortable shoes would work better for running around and falling. Good luck in the play!
Reply:open-toe flats or heels
Reply:Wear the flats, no one in the audience will see the scuffs. Besides you can fill them in with a black marker or shoe polish depending on the kind of shoe and scuff it is. No one is going to critique your shoes - they are going to be watching the play. You don't want to hurt yourself or fall on your butt on the stage.
Reply:were the comfy 1s or borrow some
Reply:See if ure mom has like black dress shoes or something
Reply:take the flats, even if they are a little beat up..try to clean them..besides, maybe only the front row will see your shoes, but everybody else cant! and even with that, who's going to pay attention to feet?
Reply:Now i have to be honest with you...... I'm only ten but I do know a bit about style. I'd say go with the flats. Even if they are scuffed up, no one will be looking at your feet, but they'll be looking at you.
Reply:you should wear the flats
Reply:flats! its k if they are kind of messed up. people will be loooking at u, not the shoes. Flats would be more comfortable too.
Reply:Do the flats... a TV hostess on a talk show isn't RICH, and plus, no one will be staring at your shoes, and if they do, they won't see the scuff marks at all. The pumps may cause you to trip, which could ruin the whole play. If you look at some of the TV hostesses, they wear both kinds of shoes. It is your decision nonetheless, but I would wear the flats.
Reply:do u have a gold shoes ar probaably a dark yellow., it would match with the flower or if u hacve neither the least you could wear is a gray or white shoes, with white earings. I hope everything works out for u !
Reply:i am 11 and had a school play like this so like go get or ask ur mom is u could get high heels that are nice!
Reply:borrow some, if u do get low, comfy, closed shoes.
Reply:Bring both of the shoes to the play and ask your director before you start the play which ones you should wear. They'll know. But before you bring both incase the director or whoever says wear the kinda messed up black ones clean them up a bit. Thats all
