What does the chess board on the cover of Breaking Dawn symbolize?

Stephanie Meyer has said that the apple on the cover of twilight symbolizes the forbidden fruit, or edward, and the ribbon on eclipse symbolizes two forces pulling at bella (edward and jacob). she has also said that the flower on new moon doesnt mean anything, which shows that the chess board could just be there for decoration. what do you think that the chess board symbolizes???
What does the chess board on the cover of Breaking Dawn symbolize?
The answer above mine is right, the meaning is unknown. However, there are many speculations, and of course I have my own.

This is what came to mind for me when I seen the book.

Chess is a game of decisions and thinking ahead so for me that symbolizes bella having to make alot of decisions in this book(just when she thought all of the important ones were taken care of).

The red pawn. A pawn in chess is just about the most insignificant piece on the board. It is the weakest off all of them.

Well this for me symbolized her as a human. Small(as in power), weak %26amp; in her mind pretty much useless. I also think that the color red could represent the blood still flowing throughout her body.

And the White Queen. A queen piece in chess is the piece with the most power. So this could represent Bella as a vampire. Powerful, no longer weak, and white as granite.

Of course those are just MY theories. I could be completely wrong. Of course... I really, really hope not!

Hope I Helped!

Reply:"The cover art for Breaking Dawn is simple black background containing a black-and-white marble chess board that fades into the back. In the foreground there is a centered white queen, with a red pawn behind and to the left. The title is centered at the top of the cover, with Meyer's name at the bottom. The significance of the cover is unknown."
Reply:i think the white piece has something to do with vampires. sorry, i don't know much about chess.
