My family always takes care of our family and close friend’s graves sites. Typically, they are in small town communities, and the cemeteries are very well cared for. recently a family friend passes away, and was buried in a city cemetery, in which they only keep flowers that are in the plastic holders provided( which only holds one or two flowers), and the tomb stones must be flat, so they can mow over them. The other day I saw an entire dumpster full of silk flowers that they cemetery had pulled up, and were getting rid of. It bothers me that the memorial I place at friends grave is pulled up and thrown away as trash. We can't plant real flowers at the sites, because they can't be mowed over. Does any one have suggestions that will allow us to show our love to those that have passed, but won't be thrown away a week later?
Fake flower alternative for grave sites?
I would go with real flowers too.
Although they die, they started out with more
life and they're beautiful.
Don't plant them, just get something to put them in.
Hope this helps! (:

Reply:The tombstone is sufficient for a permanent marker. You can take a fresh flower and lay it on the grave, accepting that it won't last.
It bothers Me that people deposit offerings on my brother's grave (he's in a cemetery without such strict rules) and don't check back in a week or so. It is very depressing to visit his grave and find it littered with tattered fake flowers, tipped over plastic vases, etc. that someone left and forgot about. There is not much bleaker than a half-burnt candle and a dirty flag.
Reply:Go to a flower shop and ask for a grave saddle with fresh flowers. my mom owns a flower shop and there is something they do to make them last longer.. im not sure what it is though or i would tell you. just ask if they know what it is.
Reply:I think that they should have real flowers on grave sites it looks more pretty that way!!!!!!
Best of Luck,
